Memories of the Dance & Wellness
Two Day Intensive Program
A Surrey Festival of Dance Society sponsored event
In 2003, Surrey Festival of Dance Society introduced to the public an opportunity for dancers to interact and participate in a non-competitive event that would be educational, informative and fun. Sixteen years later – it is still a popular sell-out event!
Dance And Wellness is a two day Intensive Dance Study and Workshop focusing on nutrition, dance and injury prevention usually held on the last weekend of September.
Subject to the availability of qualified professional instructors, speakers and dance artists, a variety of classes are scheduled over two full days in both the junior level (10-12 Years) and intermediate/senior level (13-20 Years). Teachers are encouraged to participate as well.
Dance and Wellness© diversity of classes has generated significant appreciation for the performing arts, as well as aided in the sensitivity and insight to understanding choices in health related issues and practices. From ballet to yoga, dance development to balanced nutrition, there are classes for everyone. And to further expand that sensitivity and insight, new classes are researched and new information is introduced.
Early registration is encouraged (Always a SOLD-OUT event ) and will ensure your placement as spaces fill up quickly. Class space is limited in each level. If, after registration date has expired, you are interested in possible participation, contact the office to verify if there is space still available (604-585-3320).
The variety of dance styles varies and classes on the health related information and issues are outlined in a time-line schedule which will be available at time of morning registration and check-in.
Morning check begins at 8:15am, classes start at 9:00am and run until about 5:00pm. Observers are welcome.
A great weekend of Dance, Wellness and fun!
